Newly Refreshed Canadian Museum of Immigration
Reich&Petch is thrilled to announce the opening of the immersive film experience and exhibit redesign project at the Canadian Museum of Immigration! The museum is located at the historic Pier 21 in Halifax and is one of Canada’s six national museums. This site functioned as a vital, active point of arrival and processing gateway for new Canadians almost a century ago, including some of R&P’s extended family.
The design-build team of Northern Lights Productions, R&P, and Expographiq, has transformed the Contributions Zone at the Museum, with a large-format multimedia film and hands-on experiences to elevate visitor engagement with significant, memorable elements of the country’s history. The redesigned space now serves as an evocative component of the visitor’s passage through the Canadian Immigration Hall, which shares over 400 years of Canadian immigration history.
The results speak to the rich tapestry that our nation has become, through the threads of hundreds of thousands of individual journeys from across the globe.
